251 new schools for the Lumad school children to be constructed in Mindanao

Among the identified locations, CARAGA will have the most new schools with 75 and 198 teachers, followed by the Davao Region with 69 and 147 teachers, Soccsksargen with 50 and 135 teachers, Northern Mindanao with 39 and 82 teachers, and Zamboanga Peninsula with 18 and 21 teachers. DepEd Asec. for IP Education Butch Rufino said this is the first time that the government will be building new schools for the Lumad school children “in one go.”
